Chris is a leading exponent on global mental health practice, a social entrepreneur, a trainer in community-based facilitation technique, conference speaker, and mentor. He is the founder of BasicNeeds; Action on Disability and Development; and Thrive. Chris chairs the International Centre for Social Franchising, and Carers Worldwide. Chris is a Senior Fellow with the Ashoka Fellowship, a recipient of the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, and a Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur. In 2000 Chris received an MBE for his services to disability and development. Chris is currently co-founding citiesRISE, a multi-stakeholder initiative in cities north and south.
