Rachel is a mother and management consultant, and part of the Refugees at Home team. She describes herself as an accidental activist – volunteering at the Calais Jungle camp led to increased involvement in refugee support activities, and she has now hosted refugees for two years. The charity she helps to run, Refugees at Home, matches destitute refugees and asylum seekers with generous people who have spare rooms, and has provided more than 41,600 hosted nights in its two years of operation.

When she isn’t recruiting new hosts, Rachel’s hobbies include theatre, reading, and playing with her son’s Lego.
